The latter is the case as Delaila has a bugging issue destroying the crops, which players can learn about in her Friendship quest, The Cricket Problem.

How To Complete The Cricket Problem Friendship Quest In Palia?

The Cricket Problem is Delaila’s Friendship Level 2 quest, which can begin once players have spoken to her. She can typically be found at Zeki’s General Store, Ormuu’s Horn Inn, or back at the family farm in Leafhopper Hills to accept the quest.

She’ll reveal that crickets have been running amok at their farm, eating their crops and causing plenty of headaches for her and Badruu. As they’ve tried everything to eliminate the cricket problem hampering their crops, players can step in to help her with the issue by catching Common Field Crickets that can be found throughout Leafhopper Hills.

Using any Smoke Bomb, they’ll need to catch five crickets to resolve their problems before returning to Delaila to turn in the quest.
