Palia Steam Release Date, Gameplay, Features & Countdown

We’re just a few days into the new year, and developer Singularity 6 has major plans for its cozy MMO, Palia. With the game currently available on PC through the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta through its native launcher, the developer ended the year with two massive patch updates and Palia’s launch on the Nintendo Switch.

2024 will be eyeing more content patch updates and another platform release on PC; this time, it will be coming soon to Steam. We’ve compiled all the available details in this handy guide on Palia’s upcoming Steam release, including release dates and times, gameplay content, features, and more to look forward to this year.

Palia Steam Release Dates & Times

Closing out 2023, developer Singularity 6 confirmed in a tweet that their cozy MMO, Palia, will be coming to Steam sometime in 2024. The news came following their Nintendo Switch launch and the release of their first batch of Twitch Drops to celebrate the occasion.

Currently, the game has a native launcher available to download after registering an account through the Palia Accounts page. Additionally, the game is available via the Epic Games Store and for the Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo eShop.

As of writing, the developer has yet to confirm an official release for its Steam release, but the game is currently listed with the game available to add to their Wishlist, but players are required to register an account. Additionally, the game has yet to leave its Open Beta access through its native launcher, which we’ll update this guide once the information becomes available.

Palia Steam Release Gameplay & Features

According to the official description on its Steam listing, Palia is being described as “ a vibrant new world made just for you. Craft, cook, fish, and farm with friends as you live the life of your dreams and discover an enchanting adventure filled with colorful characters and a mystery to unravel.”

As it’s a cozy MMO, players jumping into this open-world environment will have two distinct locations to explore, Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, with plenty of main, Discovery, Found Item, and Event quests to complete and learn more about the world and the mystery behind the humans’ disappearance. There are plenty of secrets to be discovered, hidden away, or found in plain sight, which will reward players greatly for their efforts.

The game includes social features and mechanisms, from starting their communities to inviting friends to play along and make new ones throughout their adventures. Speaking of socializing, there are 24 Villagers and an energetic Plumehound to get acquainted with, learn their backstories through their Friendship quests, and potentially fall in love when pursuing their Romance quests.

Throughout their in-game adventures, players will receive eight unique Skills, each with a Skill Master, that will further enhance their experiences. From cooking to mining, crafting furniture, or becoming a Master Angler, they can decide to be a master of all trades or none, but each Skill compliments each other and can help progress with quests and tasks or tackle unique challenges like dominating The Tower obstacle course.

The Housing system gives players endless hours and many customization options to build and decorate their dream village homestead. Whether it’s a fantasy dreamscape, a cottagecore ranch, or a forge, every home will be unique to each owner by acquiring buildings from the City Hall and furnishing blueprints from its Skill Master and various quests.

Customization is king (or queen) in Palia as its Character Creation is slowly progressing, adding unique options to create a character that fits their personality. With more options to be added in future patch updates, players change their hairstyle and color, acquire outfits and glider skins, add makeup or go natural-looking, and equip a pet to follow them around town.

As previously stated, Palia is currently available in Open Beta through its native launcher, the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo eShop as 2023 closed out. With a Steam release planned for this year, players will have access to all gameplay content and features by the time of its release.

Other essential features that will likely be available on day one of its release include cross-platform play (crossplay) and cross-progression so players start or continue their adventures on their preferred platform. The game will be free on all its available platforms, but it does support a monetization plan that only locks cosmetics behind microtransactions.
