The Library is one of Kilima Village's renowned establishments, managed with pristine care by its head Librarian, Caleri. Players can visit the Library to find various books and recipes, and Villagers who spend their time learning about Majiri history and culture at this location are central to the Overdue Books quest.
It’s also the location where they can begin their Friendship Level 2 quest for Caleri, Overdue Books, which tasks them with finding the overdue books from three specific Villagers. Players can “book it to the Library” and help Caleri retrieve these books by learning how to complete the Overdue Books friendship quest in Palia.
Palia Overdue Books Friendship Quest Objectives List
Caleri is fuming and needs the players’ help retrieving overdue books from Villagers in her Friendship quest, Overdue Books. As Caleri is the head Librarian and has managed the village Library with an iron fist, she has made a lapse in judgment by letting Villagers hold onto books past their due dates and needs them back.
Players will be tasked with collecting these overdue books and the late fees for Caleri to complete this quest. Let’s look at these quest objectives and retrieve these books in the hopes of calming Caleri in the Overdue Books Friendship quest:
- Get the History of Plants book
- Get the Kilima Valley Treasures book
- Get the Adventures of Jainn Rattagan book
- Return to Caleri
How To Complete The Overdue Books Friendship Quest In Palia?
This Friendship quest can be triggered once players have reached Level 2 with Caleri, and they can then speak to her at the Library to start the quest. While speaking with her, she angrily reveals that she has let three Villagers, Auni, Kenyatta, and Jina, keep their books past their due date and asks if they can collect them on her behalf.
When requesting each book from these Villagers, they’ll send them on a mini-quest before they can retrieve the book. Auni needs to forage some Wild Garlic for his Mum as he’s struggling to complete his chores in time, and helping him find Wild Garlic will see Auni finish reading the book before returning it.
Kenyatta has loaned the book to Nai’o, but he hasn’t returned it to her, and they must speak with him to get it from him. Jina has misplaced the book somewhere near the Phoenix Shrine location, and they can find the book near the entrance to the Temple of the Waves before heading back to the Library to return the overdue books.
Caleri will ask if there were any that may have had an extra loaned book to return, and they can inform her that this is not the case. Caleri will thank them for helping her with the overdue books, and they can receive improved Friendship with her, 20 Renown, 300 Gold, five Sernuk Hide, and five Leather as compensation for collecting the books.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
