Enjoying a leisurely day fishing can be rewarding as players can catch different fish species, waterlogged items, and Treasure Chests. While looting these chests can contain Furnishing items and Discovery items, the latter is true after finding a Bone Fragment, which starts a Found Item quest.
A rather peculiar item to find, the Bone Fragment can help improve your Friendship with Jina and earn some Renown. If you want to find a few Bone Fragments, this guide details how to find and use Bone Fragments before getting bone tired from fishing in Palia.
How To Find The Bone Fragments In Palia?
Bone Fragments are a Discovery item players will encounter when spending their time fishing in the waters of Bahari Bay. Players are likely to catch this item using either Worms or Glow Worms when fishing at its coastal areas between Coral Shores and Beachcomber Cove.
It can be found without bait, as this item will appear mainly during the daytime hours, so players shouldn’t have a problem finding it. After fishing a chest containing the item from the waters, this will trigger a Discovery quest, No Bones About It, in which they’ll have to speak with Jina for further information.
After speaking with Jina, they can choose between two dialogue options. Jina will become interested in this discovery, which concludes this Discovery quest, and they can receive Renown and increase their Friendship with her. But this isn’t the end of the discovery itself as it starts the following quest, Whale of a Tale, which prompts players to return to Bahari Bay.
How To Use The Bone Fragments In Palia?
The Bone Fragment is mainly used to start the No Bones About It Discovery quest in Palia, which can be given to Jina upon its discovery. Once delivered, she becomes fascinated by the discovery, which will start the next quest, Whale of a Tale.
For this quest specifically, they are to return to the Bahari Bay coast and continue fishing for more Bone Fragments to complete the quest. Players must find a skull, rib, dorsal fin, and horn Bone Fragments inside of chests before Jina sends them to a friend for confirmation.
This will require players to wait a while before receiving a response from Jina in a letter sent to the Mailbox. The letter will reveal that while the Bone Fragments do not belong to a whale, as initially assumed, it could be something more significant, which concludes the quest, and players can receive Renown and a Whale Sketch as rewards for finding and using the Bone Fragments.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
