Echo, an evolutionary robot programmed with a rapidly adapting artificial intelligence, has finally arrived in Overwatch, as the hero 32.
She's a versatile damage dealer with a unique Ultimate ability to duplicate any enemy hero and gains their abilities.
She fires 3 shots at once, in a triangle pattern, as her main weapon. She has sticky bombs that detonate after a delay, and a devastating Focusing Beam, which melts targets below 50% health. And she can also flight and glide, which allows her to position and reposition properly in a fight.
She looks like a fun hero to play, especially with her ability to duplicate any enemy hero, which can really bring a lot of unpredictability and mind games.
One other thing she will be remembered for is that she is the last Overwatch hero. By that we mean the last hero added into the game before the release of Overwatch 2.
This was confirmed by Jeff Kaplan himself, the Overwatch game producer. He said that the team is now fully focusing on Overwatch 2 and that we will see several new heroes with the release of Overwatch 2.
Of course, we still don't quite now when will this be, but some people think that Blizzard is targeting Holiday season of this year as a release window.
Some players aren't happy about it, especially since this means the game won't get any new supports or tanks for the foreseeable future, fearing that the meta will continue to be stale.
For now, we shall enjoy playing Echo, and will see what the future brings.
