Overwatch 2 has exciting plans for the upcoming season of the action-packed hero shooter, with tests of 5v5 versus 6v6 gameplay being a major highlight. It all kicks off with the newly introduced "Quick Play Hacked: Limit 2" mode, designed to test how the 5v5 setup handles increased flexibility in team compositions. For those curious about how this mode works, we’ve got all the details for you below.
Limited-Time "Quick Play Hacked: Limit 2" Mode In Overwatch 2 Explained
As outlined in the official Director’s Take on the new test game modes coming to Overwatch 2, including the 5v5 vs 6v6 tests, Quick Play Hacked: Limit 2 is a unique mode with some notable changes. In this mode, teams are limited to two players per role, including Tanks, but the Tanks will be balanced for Open Queue, meaning they’ll have less health than usual.

The latest Quick Play: Hacked experiment is live, temporarily replacing Open Queue. Now, teams are capped at a maximum of two heroes per role.

This setup allows players to switch heroes and roles freely, as long as no more than two players are already using that role. The developers explained that they’re testing how the game works with more freedom in team compositions, without fully transitioning to Open Queue.
As for gameplay, Quick Play Hacked: Limit 2 replaces the traditional Quick Play: Any Role queue. From the few matches I've played, it’s a refreshing experience to plan around two Tanks, considering their abilities and drawbacks. It strikes a balance between the feel of 6v6 compositions (especially with two Tanks) while maintaining a lighter, more casual pace.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear how long this limited-time mode will be available. Given that other Quick Play Hacked events have lasted only a few days, it's likely this mode will end either before or shortly after the weekend (November 11). Be sure to try it out while you can and enjoy the test modes, as they offer the developers valuable feedback and are a lot of fun to play.
