Game Breaking Venture Bug Discovered in Overwatch 2

It's well known right now that bugs in Overwatch 2 are fairly common, particularly with newly introduced heroes. The latest DPS hero, Venture, is no exception and has been reported by players to have a significant game-breaking bug.

Critical Bug Discovered for Overwatch 2’s Venture Allowing Him to Infinitely Contest the Point

In a recent clip posted on X by Overwatch 2 streamer KraandopOW, we see the aforementioned Venture bug in action. The clip shows Venture burrowing underground, and his team's Mei creating an Ice Wall for Venture to emerge at a higher point on the map. When this happens, Venture gets bugged out, and the timer for his re-emergence never expires, allowing him to stay underground permanently.

When this occurs, the team can't kill Venture, and he also can't attack. However, what makes this bug game-breaking is that he can still contest the point. This means that whoever has this bugged Venture on their team essentially can't lose, as they can perpetually contest the point until their team returns from spawn.

At the time of writing, there is no confirmation from Blizzard about their plans to fix this issue. However, we expect a fix soon, as other heroes with bugs in the past, such as Illari and Mei, were removed from the game to address their issues and then returned to working conditions. Likely, Venture will either be fixed while still in the game or removed temporarily so the developers can fix this bug and then return him to the roster.

In the meantime, we suggest that anyone facing this issue in the game takes a Hanzo into battle, as his ultimate (Dragonstrike) passes through the ground and can deal damage to the hero. Other than that, all we can do for now is wait for Blizzard to address this bug and fix it as soon as possible to bring balance to the game and avoid unfair match wins for Venture Mains.
