Overwatch 2, known for its complex and demanding gameplay, often encounters significant bugs and glitches. With Season 12 in full swing, it was only a matter of time before a new issue emerged, and this latest bug is particularly disruptive, granting players near immortality.
Well, it's not true immortality, but players have been reported surviving powerful ultimates due to this glitch, which makes the description seem fitting. Let’s delve into the details of this recently discovered Overwatch 2 armor bug that's giving players occasional invulnerability.
Strange Overwatch 2 Armor Bug Grants Two Heroes Ultimate Immortality
Based on recent clips posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @wumbo_ow, it appears that certain heroes in Overwatch 2 are experiencing a bug that allows them to withstand some of the game's most powerful ultimates. According to the user, this bug specifically affects Brigitte and Ramattra, as their ultimate abilities grant armor that functions differently from standard armor.
Friends and i did some testing and we figured out all armor is bugged rn. its not 10 dmg mit per shot its 50% flat dmg reduction. Ram can tank dva bomb without block and brig can tank rip tire in rally. Retweet for visibility lets kill this awful meta pic.twitter.com/28kgCCUYii

Initially, armor reduced damage by 50%, but with the introduction of Season 10, this was altered for all heroes except for the armor Ramattra and Brigitte gained during their ultimates. This discrepancy allows them to survive ultimates like Junkrat’s Riptire and D.Va’s Self-Destruct without significant damage, causing considerable disruption in the game’s meta.
As a result, players like Pharah, Reaper, and Junkrat find their damage significantly reduced when facing an Ulting Brigitte or a Nemesis Form Ramattra. This bug could lead players to either unintentionally exploit the glitch or deliberately choose these heroes to gain an unfair advantage, creating a more toxic environment reminiscent of the problematic GOATS meta.
We hope Blizzard will address this issue promptly to restore balance to the game. As @wumbo_ow stated in their tweet, "Retweet for visibility, let’s kill this awful meta," and we couldn’t agree more. We’ll keep you updated on any news or details regarding a patch or hotfix for this issue and provide ongoing coverage of Overwatch 2.
