Octopath Traveler 2 will be arriving on Xbox systems early next year. The port was announced during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show showcase and comes as a welcome surprise to fans of the first game.
During a video package that was shown off during Tokyo Game Show, the following was stated
"We're working hard to make Octopath Traveler 2 enjoyable for Xbox fans. We hope Octopath Traveler 2 will be available on the Xbox Windows Store in early winter next year."
Octopath Traveler 2 originally launched in February of this year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, and was actually the first Octopath title to even launch on PlayStation systems. The missing Xbox release was extremely noticeable, so it'll come as an exciting announcement to fans who have been waiting to play the game since it launched.
The original Octopath Traveler launched on Xbox One on March 25, 2021, and was included day and date of the Xbox Game Pass service. While it would be extremely exciting to see that happen again, there's no indication that we can expect to see Octopath Traveler 2 on Xbox Game Pass on Day One, especially given that the first Octopath Traveler was removed from Xbox Game Pass.
