Nightingale features a number of powerful bosses, typically guarding the innermost area of a Site of Power. One of the first bosses players will encounter is the Fabled Automaton Knight in the Antiquarian Site of Power.
If your Gear Score is too low, or you haven’t come equipped with healing items, you might find this early fight a bit difficult. Below, we’ll guide you through how to defeat the Fabled Automaton Knight in Nightingale
Fabled Automaton Knight Strategy In Nightingale
The Fabled Automaton Knight will spawn on the bottom floor of the Antiquarian Site of Power once you activate the button. It’s a giant, floating knight with a large sword pointing down to the ground. Fortunately, he doesn’t make use of this sword, opting for a fiery blast instead that will deal fire damage over time.
For this fight, we recommend bringing along a companion, such as Addie, who can be found in the camp outside the Site of Power. Complete her task (building beds and a Cooking Station) to unlock her as a recruit.
When attacking the Fabled Automaton Knight, some weapons/tools will be more effective than others. For example, if you’re using a Simple Axe, you’ll find that the knight has some sort of resistance to it. Instead, try using a Simply Pickaxe to deal normal damage. With the pickaxe (and Addie’s help), you should be able to take down the Knight without much trouble.
Be sure to bring some Healing Salves and Potions for good measure, and avoid staying too close to the Knight for long or else you’ll be hit with its fiery blast. Make use of the area’s walls to stay out of the Knight’s line of fire, and the sloped stone beam to gain some higher ground and put some distance between you. It’s also a great place to do some healing if you’ve taken too much damage.
Keep chipping away at the Fabled Automaton Knight with your pickaxe to steadily bring it down in no time.
Nightingale is available to play on PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store. The game launched in early acess on February 20, 2024.
