MultiVersus Launch Date, Content, Beta Progress & More

Developer Player First Games and published by WB Games, announced late in March 2023 that the free-to-play platform fighter, MultiVersus, will be shutting down its Open Beta on PC and consoles and that the game will have a full launch in the future.

This article discusses the release date and time window for MultiVersus' full launch, alongside the new content you can expect to see and what carries over in terms of beta progression.

MultiVersus Full Launch? Release Date & Time Speculation

At the time of writing, there is no confirmed full launch release date for MultiVersus, with the only info available being "Early 2024" as a release window. This means that MultiVersus' full launch should happen between January and March 2024.

The MultiVersus Open Beta was released on 19 July 2022, a Tuesday. Maybe, we will see MultiVersus' full launch also take place on a Tuesday...We will update this section as soon as a full launch release date for the fighting game becomes available. 

MultiVersus Launch New Content

There appears to be a lot of new content coming to MultiVersus when the game launches in early 2024. This includes updated netcode and improvements and new maps, characters, and game modes for players to enjoy. The developer explains:

We know there’s still a lot of work to do. As a result, we have a clearer view of what we need to focus on, specifically the content cadence of new characters, maps and modes to give you more ways to enjoy the game, along with updated netcode and more matchmaking improvements. We’ll also be reworking the progression system based on your feedback and looking at new ways for you to connect with your friends in the game.

There will be a variety of new content and features for MultiVersus' full launch, and the developers will share more details "closer to launch."

Does MultiVersus Beta Progress Carry Over To Launch?

The good news is that everything you've earned (and the progress you've made) during the Open Beta will carry over to the full release of MultiVersus. This includes the likes of unused Gleamium (the premium currency), character tickets, in-game items, and Battle Pass tokens.
