Strange Scaffold's supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter game El Paso, Elsewhere is reportedly in talks of receiving a live-action film adaptation. The supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter is the dream project developed by the studio's CEO, Xalavier Nelson Jr., who wrote and voiced the protagonist, James Savage.

According to a report from Deadline, the supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter is eying Atlanta and Judas and the Black Messiah star LaKeith Stanfield to star in the adaptation and produce the film. Alongside Stanfield, Deadline also reports that Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Colin Stark will produce the film.

Cited as a "love letter" to iconic neo-noir shooters, El Paso, Elsewhere's gripping story will be turned into a film adaptation. (Picture: Strange Scaffold)

The supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter follows recovering drug addict James Savage as he fights his way through a "reality-shifting motel" tracking his ex-girlfriend, Draculae. As he's fighting against her "evil puppets," he also rescues the victims of Draculae before she performs an apocalyptic-like ritual as he faces "his inner demons," per Deadline.

Since its release in September 2023 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, the game has received mostly positive reviews for its intense and emotional writing and gameplay design. It has been cited as a "love letter" to classic neo-noir shooters, drawing inspiration from shooter games like Hotline Miami, Max Payne, and Quake.

Nelson Jr. shared his excitement on social media to confirm Deadline's reporting and Stanfield and Di Bonaventura's involvement in the film adaptation. No additional information has been provided as of this writing, but we'll continue to follow this story with the latest developments and news.
