New Sonic 3 TV Spot Video Has Fans Excited Over Possible Appearance Of A Mysterious Character

The marketing promotional tour for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film continues to generate much anticipation for the film's release this December 2024. Its production studio, Paramount, has been sharing behind-the-scenes footage featuring Shadow the Hedgehog's voice actor, Keanu Reeves, while advertising the film through TV spots, which have been watched and viewed online a million times.

One particularly interesting TV spot caught Sonic fans' attention online, speculating about the possibility of one character appearing in the film. Its origins stemmed from the TailsTube series in 2023, which one Sonic account pointed out this past week.

We start with the social media post that the Sonic Stadium account posted on Bluesky on 27th November 2024 that a mysterious woman with pink hair had briefly appeared in a recent Sonic 3 TV spot a few days ago. The account posted an image of the aforementioned pink-haired female character, which immediately referred to one particular TailsTube video from 2022, in which Miles "Tails" Prower discussed the differences between the humans and their anthropomorphic counterparts' homeworlds from the Sonic universe.

This pink-haired female character hasn't appeared in other Sonic-related media since the TailsTube video, which may change since a similar-looking character appeared in the Sonic 3 TV spot (h/t FutureBoyWho / YouTube).  While the TV spot has been rather tricky to find online except for reaction videos, the TV spot has this pink-haired character appearing on a Japanese billboard in the Tsutaya sequence from the first official trailer in August 2024.

The latest official trailer, released this November, also shows the same sequence; however, the TV spot features the same Japanese billboard before being damaged with the full image of this mysterious woman. This sparked discussions online across multiple platforms about the identity of this character, with some possibilities including her being a close or distant relative of the Robotnik family, according to one Redditor.

Regarding the mysterious character's identity, there has been nothing official as of writing so it's safe to assume that it remains unknown for the time being. Nevertheless, the chatter continues online and in forum discussions in the weeks leading up to the film's release.; however, it may be possible that the film won't address this as Sonic fans continue to clamor for more information.
