Monster Hunter Wilds was first announced last December, and looked mightily impressive when it did drop. But today fans of the series got their look at the action-RPG's first gameplay trailer.
Admittedly, there's still plenty of time before the game releases in 2025, but it was good to see quite how decent the game is looking in both cinematic and gameplay segments featured throughout the trailer. There was even several monster types shown. Although we've no idea personally if these critters are new to the series (there's more info on these monsters on a PlayStation blog).
There was at least confirmation that all 14 weapon types are returning from previous games along with new actions. Fans also got a brief look at Windward Plains, the vast sand plain where the game will begin as players set foot into the new location of the Forbidden Lands.
"In Monster Hunter Wilds, environments will change drastically," wrote Capcom Community Manager Joseph Bustos. "Monsters and organisms will change and adapt according to changes in the environment, resulting in a world that feels truly alive."

Fans should also be able to get a better look at the game next week during Summer Game Fest, when CAPCOM's Ryozo Tsujimoto will debut some new footage and details.
