Updated February 20, 2024: With regular feature premieres now arriving, we've got details on the confirmed MLB The Show 24 ratings reveal date below.
MLB The Show 24 Ratings Predictions
Last year, there were four different players who earned the coveted 99 OVR rating to place them at the top of the pack. Now that another season of action is in the books, the MLB The Show 24 ratings will reveal who developers see as the greatest players in baseball today.
MLB The Show 23 gave a perfect 99 OVR rating to Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, and Jacob deGrom. The odds are that most of those names will still be on deck near the upper echelon, but several players proved themselves worthy of top honors last season. Here's a look at our predictions for the six highest rated players in MLB The Show 24:
Shohei Ohtani - Los Angeles Dodgers
If you don't already know that Shohei Ohtani is one of the greatest baseball players to ever live, you probably haven't been paying attention to baseball the last few years. That isn't changing anytime soon, as the reigning AL MVP leveraged his prowess into signing the biggest contract in sports history. We haven't yet seen him take the field in a Dodgers uniform, but there's no doubt Ohtani will be at the top of the MLB The Show 24 ratings.
Ronald Acuña Jr. - Atlanta Braves
On the other side of the league, Ronald Acuña Jr. became the unanimous NL MVP after another rockstar season with the Atlanta Braves. He slipped into the top 25 players in MLB The Show 23 with a 92 OVR, but it's definitely time for an upgrade. Ronald Acuña Jr. might miss out on a perfect 99 OVR, but he should at least make the top ten when the MLB The Show 24 ratings arrive.
Mookie Betts - Los Angeles Dodgers
Mookie Betts has consistently been one of the best hitters, and he's been a cornerstone for the Los Angeles Dodgers since helping them secure a World Series Championship in 2020. Betts is getting plenty of help thanks to a blockbuster offseason for the Dodgers, but he was already the highest rated Dodger in MLB The Show 23 with a 97 OVR rating. After another All-Star season, Betts could snag that 99 OVR rating in MLB The Show 24.
Corey Seager - Texas Rangers
It would be an extremely bold move to put Corey Seager all the way at the top, but it's hard to deny the impact he had in leading the Rangers to their first World Series championship. Seager also became only the fourth two-time World Series MVP, but he was only an 85 OVR player in MLB The Show 23 at launch. Seager deserves a rating in the 90s, but it may be a Top 25 or Top 10 year for him.
Aaron Judge - New York Yankees
All rise for another year of Aaron Judge hitting bombs in MLB The Show. Even if the living legend misses out on a perfect 99 OVR rating thanks to New York's rocky season and an injury that caused him to miss 42 games, Aaron Judge will be among the best in MLB The Show 24. Next season might be a different tale for the Yankees if Judge can stay healthy, but he can count on good marks from the MLB The Show 24 ratings.
Gerrit Cole - New York Yankees
Our last pick to top the MLB The Show 24 ratings is another member of the New York Yankees, but even an up and down season for the team didn't prevent Gerrit Cole from earning the AL Cy Young Award last season. He was a two-time runner up prior to this win, and Cole was just an 89 OVR in last year's game. Proving himself one of the league's best pitchers could push him into the Top 10 when we finally get to see the MLB The Show 24 ratings.
MLB The Show 24 Roster Update, Ratings Reveal Date
As for the question of when the MLB The Show 24 ratings will actually be revealed, fans still have a little more time to wait. Last year's ratings were revealed in early March 2023, we've now learned that will ring true again as the MLB The Show 24 ratings reveal is scheduled for March 7, 2024.
They've yet to confirm which feature premiere will pair with that reveal date, but the most likely seems to be Franchise Mode and March to October. New details about game modes like Road to the Show are expected as well, and they'll likely save Diamond Dynasty for the final reveal ahead of launch.
As of now, we also still expect a regular MLB The Show 24 roster update applied to the Live Series in Diamond Dynasty as the season is underway. They've not clarified if the announced ratings reveal will be the Live Series ratings or the game's core roster ratings.
