Axolotls were announced back in 2020 and are finally added to Minecraft 1.17 update. If you don’t know about these cute little creatures, Axolotls are aquatic passive mobs that attack most other underwater mobs except turtles and dolphins.
Axolotls can be found in five different colours, and you can find them in a group below y63 level in caves with water having no light. Once you find them, you will instantly want to tame and breed them by just looking at these cute mobs. So, to help you with it, we have prepared a complete guide for you on how you can tame and breed Axolotls.
How to tame Axolotls in Minecraft
Unfortunately, you can’t tame Axolotls in Minecraft like cats, horses and other animals in the game. However, you can carry them from one place to another easily using a bucket but make sure to put them back in the water as they will die without it in five minutes.
How to breed Axolotls in Minecraft
While you can’t tame Axolotls in Minecraft, you can breed them for sure, just like cows, horses, sheep etc. Here’s how you can breed both of them together by following the steps listed below:
- Find two Axolotls in water or make a pool of your own and put both of there.
- Take two buckets of Tropical Fish and go near Axolotls.
- Give one Tropical Fish bucket to each to make them enter the Love Mode.
- Red hearts will appear on them as they come closer.
- After a few moments, you will see a baby Axolotls there which means you have successfully bred them.
