New Marvel Snap Roadmap Reveals Character Mastery, Draft Mode & More In Development

October may be the spooky season with Halloween fast approaching, but it's also the second anniversary of the popular card battler Marvel Snap. Developer Second Dinner has made plenty of rewards and anniversary treats for all Snappers to enjoy this month, but what many didn't anticipate is a development update.

The game's developer released a new video highlighting a few features, optimizations, and adjustments that improve gameplay quality and provide transparency between the studio and their player base. Not only are they focusing on what's coming to Marvel Snap next, but they've added a few surprises on what the Snappers can look forward to in the near future.

First outlined as part of the "We Are Venom" season, the next limited-time game, High Voltage, was spotlighted in the Development Roadmap video posted online on 14th October 2024. This fast-paced game mode sees Snappers participating in three-round matches with randomized Energy to claim victory and finish themed missions to earn Volts, which unlocks electrifying rewards from the Reward Tracker, including the new card release, Agony, to name a few.

The following week, from 18th October 2024, the festivities continue with the next wave of Login Rewards, as Snappers can claim random Boosters, Credits, a Premium Mystery Variant, and more rewards to mark the game's second anniversary. For a limited time between 24th and 29th October 2024, a new feature, the Collector's Vault, allows Snappers to access Variants that they've "previously missed" out on and will return "periodically," according to Second Dinner.

But what about what's coming later this year, Bub? Glad you asked, as Deadpool is bringing more tasty treats this Holiday season as Deadpool's Diner will be opening its doors once again. Character Mastery is back on the cards, and in development, so we'll provide all the latest information on this feature as the developer hopes to launch it before the end of the year.

The Season Pass offering will be reimagined according to the developer with the new "Super Premium Season Pass," the details of which remain unknown as of writing. Another new limited-time mode is heading to the battlegrounds of Marvel Snap in early 2025, and new functionality allowing Snappers to preview Albums and add them to a "Wishlist" looks to be in development, with more details to follow soon.

Lastly, a few features "have been initially scoped out and given shape," which the developer has mentioned in the Development Update, including Draft Mode, in which the developer is actively "evaluating a wide range of potential solutions" for the best possible in-game experience. More cosmetic types are in the “In Concept” phase, in which a shared graphic looks like a new background that Snappers may see while playing matches.
