US-based Snappers are rejoicing as card battler Marvel Snap is officially back online following a chaotic few days, which started in the wake of video-sharing app TikTok's ban. Due to TikTok being temporarily banned resulted in all of ByteDance's owned IPs, including Marvel Snap, as its publisher, Nuverse, is owned by the company.

The game's developer, Second Dinner, assured its player base that it's working around the clock to "fully restore" the game in the US. As Second Dinner has been keeping Snappers in the loop with updates and has confirmed compensation plans, they've announced on their Discord server and social media that the game is back online for Snappers in the US!

This announcement was posted to the official Marvel Snap Discord server and Second Dinner's Twitter account on 20th January 2025, stating, "Marvel Snap is back online in the US." However, they've also revealed plans for the future of the card battler game and the developer to avoid similar situations befalling the studio.

"But to make sure this NEVER happens again, we’re working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher," the official statement reads. Second Dinner elaborated that this unexpected ban on Marvel Snap will be used to usher in "the start of a new era for Marvel Snap," noting that this will "leave" Snappers "with even more questions than answers."

As expected, the developer didn't divulge what this "start of a new era" could mean for Marvel Snap, but many Snappers have already started presenting ideas, like changes to the game's monetization model. Nevertheless, the developer will update its player base as they begin looking for a new publisher once they're ready to make that announcement.
