Marvel Snap Dev Announce Support From New US-Based Publisher As Game Services Restored On App Stores

It has been a few weeks since Marvel Snap's shocking ban from American app stores, which resulted from the US Congress banning the video-sharing app TikTok and other ByteDance-owned apps. Developer Second Dinner has remained transparent with the Marvel Snap community as they worked to restore the game on the Apple App and Google Play Stores and have detailed compensation plans for US-based and global players, which will be issued soon.

Second Dinner has also commented that they'll be looking for a new publisher to prevent a similar situation from occurring in the future, for which the developer has provided an update. This new direction is the "start of a new era" for the card battler, and they've landed a publisher, which they announced on social media.

Marvel Snap developer has had a productive start to 2025, which started with the launch of its current season, the Dark Avengers; however, it was marred by a shocking ban that has left US-based players in the dark for several hours. The developer has been keeping all players updated on their efforts to restore the game, which they were successful, and will be issuing compensation soon to all players.

The developer also revealed in a social media and Discord server post that they'll be "working to bring more services in-house" and seeking out a US-based publisher, which they confirmed on 28th January 2025. "To ensure this never happens again, and with the help of our current publisher, Nuverse (Thank you!), we've already signed agreements and started the work to bring almost all operational and publishing responsibilities in-house at Second Dinner with support from a new US-based publisher, Skystone Games."

The statement continued, adding, "This has been a full-team effort between Second Dinner, Nuverse, Skystone, and Marvel," thanking players for their continued support, and the developer is "excited about what's ahead for Marvel Snap!" The timeline for when the compensation will be issued to players in-game is still unconfirmed; we'll update this news article once it has been announced.
