Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games released their Developer Vision Vol. 2 video last week, in which they provided new details on specific game features like hero balance, "game experience optimizations," Anti-Cheat systems and more. The developer also announced new maps for several game modes that will be arriving to the superhero team-based PvP shooter, which the HYDRA Charteris Base: Hell's Heaven is one of the maps confirmed in the Developer Vision Vol. 2 video.
Following this announcement, the developer released a new reveal video of this new map to the game's official YouTube channel, which was confirmed for the Domination mode. The reveal video also included a few secrets that a few players have caught, including a tease for the game's forthcoming playable characters.
The HYDRA Charteris Base: Hell's Heaven was first teased in Hawkeye's character reveal trailer before the developer confirmed it during the recent Developer Vision video as players gained an extensive look at the map in a new Map Reveal featurette. In the aforementioned Developer Vision video, a few planned adjustments are being made to various maps, including "collision smoothing and performance optimization" ahead of the game's release in December 2024.
During the Map Reveal featurette, players could view multiple combat spaces, unique map design elements, and the freezing temperatures they want to consider and plan before heading into battle. In one specific moment at the 0:21 time mark, there is a mural which, upon close inspection, features the busts of several members of the Avengers, including one unconfirmed character, the Black Widow Natasha Romanoff, who has been speculated to join the roster.
As one of the few new maps added to Marvel Rivals post-launch, the HYDRA Charteris Base: Hell's Heaven is a Domination mode map located deep within Antarctica, leading heroes toward its "volcanic heart." The main objective of this map is to turn off "Hydra's interdimensional power," which, as the match continues, the map's hidden base terrain will
change as the "base transforms" once the "Invasion Protocol" has been activated, forcing players to change their offensive and defensive strategies.
