Last week, the Las Vegas Raiders signed free agent linebacker KJ Wright to a new deal. Wright, who was voted into the top 100 players of 2021 by his peers, hadn’t been signed after his release from the Seattle Seahawks during the offseason. However, that’s changed now and players want to know if Wright is viable in Madden 22.
Over the last ten seasons or so, Wright was considered one of the game’s top linebackers. He was a force on the dominant Seattle defences of the 2010s and his stats backed this up, as did his Madden ratings. He was rated as a 97 in Madden 20, his highest to date.
While he’s not anywhere near that number in Madden 22, perhaps with some solid play on the Raiders he can make his way back up to that rating. For now, though, players can use KJ Wright and his current rating in Madden 22.
KJ Wright’s Madden 22 rating
With the latest roster update in Madden 22, KJ Wright is ranked as an 83 overall. His highest individual stat is in Awareness, where he has a 93 rating. His speed is rated as 79, which some fans consider somewhat low given Wright’s history as a solid coverage linebacker.

While KJ Wright might be rated lower than he has in the past, 83 overall is by no means a bad rating. This shows that the Madden 22 rating committee believes he can make an impact with the Raiders in the 2021 season. Also, they’re giving him some room to improve and increase his rating with solid performances.
Of course, players can increase his rating themselves if they want. This is done by using a custom roster and could allow KJ Wright to immediately return to his 2019 form.
KJ Wright joins Josh Norman as veterans who have been added to an NFL roster late in the offseason.
