Madden 23 Cover Reveal - John Madden returns after 20 years

Madden day is officially here as 1st June marks the kickoff for the next cycle of the legendary franchise. One of the first orders of business is for EA Sports to unveil the cover of the new title as Madden 23 will be upon us very soon.

After teasing the Madden 23 Cover Athlete Reveal for the morning of 1st June, millions around the world were waiting on edge to see who would be the face of the new title. While EA Sports provided five cover-athlete candidates, it appears they were just a smokescreen for a very special and nostalgic surprise. Shockwaves ran through both the football and sports gaming communities after news broke in December 2021 that the legend, John Madden, had passed. The iconic coach was responsible for so many Hall of Fame moments both on the sidelines, as well as in the broadcasting booth.

However, his greatest lasting legacy on the game is probably the legendary EA Sports Madden franchise, as the series has been one of the most successful in the history of sports games. To honor the legend, EA Sports has selected John Madden to grace the cover of Madden 23. It will be the first time the coach features on the cover since Madden 2000, 23 years ago.

Madden 23 Official Reveal Trailer

In another exciting piece of news, EA Sports also showcased the release date for the Madden 23 Official Reveal Trailer. This is always a highly-anticipated event as it marks the first chance players can tune in and get a look at the new title gameplay.

Players will be able to watch the Madden 23 Official Reveal Trailer on the EA Sports Madden NFL YouTube page on 2nd June at 10 am ET (3 pm GMT).
