Nintendo's forthcoming action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has been leaked online weeks before its release for Nintendo Switch consoles. According to several reports from various outlets, it's been detailed that several images and video content for the unreleased Zelda game appeared online, with a report from VGC revealing that copyright claims by Nintendo have struck one YouTube video.
Eurogamer reported late last week that a content creator, Nintendo Prime, has been sent a rom link to the full game, which they "confirmed" to be the Echoes of Wisdom game. The YouTuber elaborated in a social media post regarding the ROM link that was shared with them, who has decided not to share the gameplay footage as the game is scheduled to release later this month.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom follows the Hyrulean princess, Zelda, as players embark on heroic adventures to save her proud kingdom from calamity. The action-adventure game is scheduled for release on 26th September 2024 for Switch consoles; leaks for this next entry in The Legend of Zelda series have surfaced online, which was "confirmed" by Zelda content creator Nintendo Prime.
The content creator explained on social media that a rom link that was forwarded to them contained the full Echoes of Wisdom game; however, exclaimed that they'll not be "distributing" it and had kindly requested people to "stop asking" as "it’s illegal and career-ending to do so." Another Zelda content creator, Zelda Lore, corroborated Nintendo Prime's statements, adding that a handful of people have the forthcoming action-adventure game on "emulators," which is highly concerning.
Legend of Zelda fans who've pre-ordered or are looking to play Echoes of Wisdom at launch are asked to mute or block Zelda-related keywords, especially on social media, to best avoid being spoilt on gameplay and story aspects that have leaked ahead of its release. The kingdom of Hyrule awaits players as Echoes of Wisdom comes to Nintendo Switch consoles on 26th September 2024 as pre-orders are still available, and we ask players to remain safe online in light of the recent gameplay leaks.
