Over the last couple of years, Riot Games has been busy working on several new projects and expanding their library of games to various genres.
A studio which was known solely for their megapopular MOBA game League of Legends for over 10 years, Riot now already has four new games - Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Valorant, and is working on at least another four new games set to be released in 2021 and beyond.
One of those new games is League of Legends MMORPG, one is a fighting game with LoL characters (Project L), one is a hack and slash rogue-like, and finally, we have Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story has been announced at Worlds 2020 when it was revealed that the game is a turn-based RPG set in the world of League of Legends. The first official gameplay was shown during The Game Awards 2020.
The game is being co-developed by Airship Syndicate, a studio know for Darksiders series and it should be first of many League of Legends games focused on telling stories from the game's rich lore through a partnership between Riot and indie developers.
Ruined King: A League of Legends Story release date
Riot hasn't yet revealed the official release date, but previously, the game was expected to be released in "Early 2021".
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 challenges, the release window was changed from "early 2021" to just "coming 2021", which probably means that we will not see the game released before summer 2021.

Ruined King gameplay

It has been confirmed that Ruined King is a turn-based RPG, but for now, we have no other details released about the game's gameplay.
The gameplay looks like something from jRPGs, where characters are standing in place and taking turns to use their abilities and attack, without movement or positioning.
From the trailer, we can also see that there will be a Bounty system, as well as environmental traps.
League's champions will probably use the abilities they are known for from the MOBA game, and we might expect to see Rune system implemented into the game as well, but this hasn't yet been confirmed.
We do know that the big focus will be on storytelling, so there will probably be all kinds of unique quests to complete and interesting characters to meet.

Will Ruined King be available on consoles?
On launch, Ruined King will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
Sometime after launch, the game will get PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/ S versions, which will come as a free upgrade for those who already own the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
