As announced before the LCS and LEC Summer seasons began, Riot has implemented a new feature so viewers can earn rewards while watching League of Legends.
After previously experimenting with drops for the Valorant beta, Riot is introducing the mechanic for League of Legends to earn “digital goods and other promotions”.
These drops are in the form of cards which can provide a variety of rewards, ranging from Blue Essence, Hextech chests and keys, skin shards, summoner icons and Clash tickets.
So how can you be in the running for drop rewards? Here’s what you need to know.

When do the first LCS drops take place?
Riot has announced the first drops for the LCS begin in Week 5, specifically after the classic showmatch between TSM and Cloud9 on Friday 10th July.
The first rewards will be distributed during the opening game of Friday Night League between Immortals and Dignitas, with rewards including a Hextech chest and key.
It's important to remember you can only earn drops by watching LCS on watch.lolesports.com.
How can I earn drops?
To ensure you’re able to receive drops, you have to follow the below steps.
- Log in to watch.lolesports.com with your League of Legends account in a Riot or Tencent region
- Make sure you have opted in to receive rewards and drops on the Rewards Page.
- If a Drop is triggered by an in-game moment during a live LCS match, you will see an on-screen notification. Click this notification or check the Drops tab on your profile page to receive your rewards. Your card will appear on the Drops tab on watch.lolesports.com anytime afterward and in-game goods will automatically appear in your account within 24 hours.
Future drops are set to be more dynamically incorporated across the remaining LCS and LEC seasons, so expect them to become a frequent addition soon.
