The road to Worlds 2021 is currently underway, as almost all 22 qualified teams for the tournament have already been defined in each regional playoff, with only the Vietnamese league waiting to offer up their entry
As with every World Championship, new content is slated to be released along the way ranging from icons of each of the teams, a special pass packed with exclusive rewards, and of course the long-awaited Championship skin.
This time will be no exception, as Riot has released the first reveal of this year’s skin, together with six new styles within the Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skin line, including a new look for Kayn and the launch skin for Vex, League’s next champion.
Jarvan IV chosen as the bearer for Worlds 2021 skin
Historically, the Championship skins have represented some of the best champions during each competitive year, according to pro play results and pick/ban ratios in ranked queues.
For Worlds 2021, Riot has chosen Jarvan IV to represent this year’s biggest tournament, something that comes as a surprise as they previously had a rule that slated no champions with previous competitive skins could have another one.
With this reveal, the Exemplar of Demacia will become the first-ever character to have both a Victorious and a Championship skin, while also being the first skin to be rebranded within this skin line, as its official name will take away the ‘Championship’ title.
Following the style of previous Championship skins, the ‘Worlds 2021 Jarvan IV’ skin features a majestic silver-plated armour with blue accentuations, resembling the gems found around the Summoner’s Cup. All of his abilities and his recall also feature these colour schemes, giving a heroic feel to his new aspect.
Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skins revealed
Besides the Worlds 2021 skin, Riot has also unveiled a new set of skins that will be added to the Dawnbringer and Nightbringer theme, available during the Night and Dawn 2021 event.
Kayn’s Nightbringer skin was already teased a couple of patches ago, however, his long-awaited skin won’t arrive alone as new aspects have also been confirmed for Yone, Morgana and Vex within the Dawnbringer theme, and two more for Lillia and Tryndamere as Nightbringer champions.
Each of these confirmed skins will be priced at 1,350 RP, except for Yone’s which is slated to be released as a legendary skin for 1,820 RP. All of these will be available in special bundles as well, to be confirmed in the next few days.
You can see them all in action thanks to the preview video below, courtesy of Riot Games.
As you can see, not only players will enjoy seven new skins in the following weeks, but also Kayn will receive a new Prestige skin, available through the Night and Dawn 2021 event pass.
The new Dawnbringer and Nightbringer, and Worlds 2021 Jarvan IV skins will be available in patch 11.19 on 22nd September, but you can try them now on League’s PBE server.
