MachineGames Indiana Jones game will be an Xbox exclusive, it has been confirmed during the opening day of Microsoft's battle with the Federal Trade Commission.
As Microsoft looks to bypass the blocking of its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, new details have been revealed by Pete Hines who was testifying behind the court. According to Hines, prior to the Microsoft acquisition of Bethesda, Disney had signed an agreement with Zenimax that guaranteed that they would have made the Indiana Jones game for multiple platforms. However, Hines also confirmed that after the acquisition, the plan changed to make the game an Xbox-exclusive title.
Hines was also asked whether or not the upcoming Indiana Jones title will be a day-one Xbox Game Pass release, and he confirmed that it will be showing up on the subscription service on day one, along with releasing on PC platforms.
This is the first confirmation that we have that Bethesda and MachineGames upcoming Indiana Jones game was originally planned to release on PS5 before the acquisition. The game was first announced way back in 2021 and has been silent ever since. This is actually the very first we've heard about the game since the original announcement and comes only due to the FTC blocking the Microsoft Activision-Blizzard acquisition.
