Once players settle into Vatican City in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a handful of mysteries will start to become available which can earn Adventure Points and help you explore the area more thoroughly. If you've stumbled upon a cat or the poster that kicks off Free Spirit, there are five different cats that can be found. While only Signor Smushki himself needs to be found to finish Free Spirit, using the camera to photograph all five cats will net some important extra Adventure Points to upgrade your abilities in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
How to Find Every Cat in Free Spirit Mystery
If you haven't officially begun this quest yet, start at the Vatican Post Office where you unlocked the camera from Ernesto. Step outside and turn left, then continue straight until you pass underneath a half-raised checkpoint bar. Turn right and then look to the wall on your left.
A bulletin board can be found here, and interacting with one poster will alert you that poor Signor Smushki is missing. Father Bianci provides a riveting description of a cat with "short black hair, reminiscent of a satin robe hung over a nimble frame, adorned with a puff of white hair worn like the breastplate of a nobel knight." He was last seen scaling the Tower of Nicholas V, which is behind where you'll find the flyer, but that's not where you need to look.
Black and White Cat Location
Instead, head back towards the Vatican Post Office to the Pharmacy. If you haven't already, be sure to chat with Valeria to get a long-term mission stealing medical supplies from the fascists that she can use to help people. You'll be able to trade those for upgrades.
Look to the right of her and you should see a large tree planter with flowers, and your first picture opportunity is here. Asleep on the concrete ledge of this central feature is the Black and White Cat. Be sure to snap a photo for the Adventure Points, and then head back out and turn right when exiting the pharmacy.
Orange Cat Location
When you step into the area just west of the pharmacy, there are two areas you need to check. First, turn to your left and look for a black gate with one door open and a wooden pallet leaned against the closed door. Pass through into a dark alleyway, and look to your right to see some boxes and a small building you can climb up on.
This gets you up onto the roof, and there are two cats to find up here. Straight ahead from where you climb up to this level, you'll find the Orange Cat snoozing. Get a picture, ideally during a big stretch, and then turn around.
White Cat Location
There's a wooden path on the right that'll let you cross over to another part of this large roof. Just ahead on your left you can spot the White Cat taking a nap on a raised part of the roof. Snap a quick picture, maybe during a big yawn, and you're now over halfway there.
Brown Cat Location
Head back down off this roof and back into the area west of the pharmacy you were in moments earlier. This time, look for metal gates on the other side that go to a large courtyard with several workers. There's a large area of scaffolding on the right, and that'll bring you to the next cat.
Climb up the ladder, and go straight ahead to find the Brown Cat catching some shuteye on the scaffolding. Snap a quick picture of the Brown Cat, and now all that's left to find is Signor Smushki himself. Fortunately, you're already halfway to his hiding spot after taking a picture of the Brown Cat.
Signor Smushki Location
Turn around after photographing the Brown Cat, and look for a set of boxes that will let you climb up another level on the scaffolding. When you do, there will be another ladder up onto the roof that puts you on the path to the Black Cat, our venerable Signor Smushki.
Once you're up on the roof, walk straight ahead on the tiny path where the angles of each roof area meet. Look for a long thin path to the right, and at the end of that you'll find the Black Cat relaxing on some brick.
Pull out your camera and take one last picture to realize this is indeed Signor Smushki. You've now gotten all the Adventure Points possible by taking a picture of each cat, and it's time to let Father Bianci know. Head back to the spot where you found the poster and this mystery began, then interact with it to pin the photo of Signor Smushki and so Father Bianci knows where to look for him. That wraps up Free Spirit, and you got to spend time taking pictures of adorable cats while racking up Adventure Points in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
