How to unlock Monk Maz Koshia in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Nintendo, and specifically Zelda fans, are ready to get their hands on the latest title in the franchise, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a spinoff that actually ties to the main series via Breath of the Wild, as it acts as a prequel to the smash hit that released alongside the Nintendo Switch back in 2017.

The Koei Tecmo game that mixes gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors franchise with Breath of the Wild's universe boasts a massive lineup of character from the BOTW universe (a total of 19) including Monk Maz Koshia, making its return from The Champions' Ballad DLC.

You'll be wanting to add this powerful being to your cast of characters in Age of Calamity and we're here to walk you through how to do so.

How to Unlock Monk Maz Koshia in Age of Calamity

The first requirement to have the ability to unlock the Sheikah Monk known as Maz Koshia you must reach the second mission in Chapter 4 and complete it.

Once you've done this, pull up your map and locate Gerudo in the Southeast portion of it where you'll find a location called 'The Trials of Monsters'.

You'll need to present the following materials to unlock a third of the reward that will give you the chance to unlock Maz Koshia:

• Ethereal Stone: 5
• Bokoblin Trophy: 350
• Lizalfos Trophy: 100
• Wzzrobe Trophy: 3
• Moblin Trophy: 20

Next up, seek out 'The Trial of the Mighty Foe' in Faron.

Here are the materials you need to present:

• Ethereal Stone: 10
• Stone Talus Trophy: 1
• Hinox Trophy: 3
• Lynel Trophy: 3

The third and final Trial location is also in Faron, called 'The Trial of the Stones'.

The materials for this one are as follows:

• Ethereal Stone: 7
• Amber: 10
• Topaz: 5
• Ruby: 5
• Diamond: 2

Upon completion, a new area will be unlocked within Central Hyrule called 'Trial of the Ancients'.

This is essentially a boss fight with Monk Maz Koshia which requires you to at least be level 38 to be able to pull through, as the challenge itself is a timed one: you need to beat Maz in three minutes or less.

If you succeed, Monk Maz Koshia will be part of your roster of characters!
