After a recent Q&A session with Hunt: Showdown 1896 game director Scott Lussier and Post Malone, it was clear a collaboration was in the works, and now it's officially confirmed. A new event titled "Post Malone's Murder Circus" is coming to Hunt: Showdown 1896. Here’s what we know about the event so far.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Unveils The "Post Malone's Murder Circus" Event
According to the official blog post, Post Malone’s Murder Circus will be the biggest Hunt: Showdown 1896 event to date. Players will enter a nightmarish world where a traveling carnival is transformed by a mysterious artifact, the HelioStone. This stone has driven out the Ringmaster, now the "Deposed King," who Post Malone portrays in the event.
The Deposed King has been following the carnival ever since, vowing to destroy the HelioStone. Every time it appears, he tries to tear it down, sometimes recruiting bounty hunters to help. However, the HelioStone always eludes him, and the chase continues.
Players will likely take on the role of bounty hunters recruited by the Deposed King to destroy the HelioStone. The mission won’t be easy, as new enemy variants, such as the Ursa Mortis, will be introduced. These twisted, deformed bear cubs have been driven to savage hunger by the HelioStone.
Details about the event are still unclear, including its start date, and whether it will be a new game mode or integrated into regular Bounty Hunt matches. It’s also unknown if Post Malone’s character will appear as an NPC, in cutscenes, or if the rumored new Trait will be included. Regardless, the Hunt: Showdown community is eager for the event's arrival.
This event may be a great step forward for both Crytek and the game. Stay tuned for more details as they’re revealed.
