Last week, after more than a month of rumours and speculations, Sony has finally announced a PlayStation 5 presentation for 4th June to show a look “at the future of gaming” on the platform.
In the meantime, Black Lives Matter protests became widespread across the US, and even worldwide, showing support to a peaceful battle against police brutality and racism.
Many gaming personalities and esports organisations started showing open support to this cause, and Electronic Arts was the first company to announce that they will delay their planned event because of this - official Madden 21 announcement has been postponed.

This decision is now made by Sony as well. They officially revealed via Twitter that they will postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for 4th June.
"We denounce systematic racism and violence against the black community," says in the statement. "We will continue to work towards a future marked by empathy and inclusion and stand with black creators, players, employees, families, and friends"
The statement was later followed by another tweet in which Sony officially announced that they will postpone PlayStation 5 event scheduled for 4th June.
Sony says that they "understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games," but they think that now is not the right time, and they want to allow "more important voices to be heard."
The event is delayed without a new date, and it will probably be followed with delays of some other gaming events planned for this week, like a rumoured Star Wars: Maverick announcement.
