A new PS5 beta is rolling out today, adding a host of useful features.
The most exciting addition to this update is the ability to use 8TB M.2 SSDs, which is an upgrade from the previous maximum hard drive size of 4TB. This doubles the potential storage size of the PS5 and will allow players to install even more games onto one drive without losing the ability to receive the fast loading times of the console.
Smaller additions include the ability to search for games in your library in case you have a whole lot of games, support for compatible Dolby Atmos devices so that 3D Audio can be used by people who own soundbars, TVs, or home theatre systems with Dolby-Atmos compatibility.
Beta access will be given specifically to people who have signed up for PlayStation 5 software betas, and will roll out steadily across the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
