GTA Online has been around for around 10 years and the game has a very dedicated community to it. Players love taking on the various story missions that the new DLC brings to the table and discovering how the game changes with each DLC drop. One thing we know for sure is that when a new DLC hits, there will be a lot of changes to GTA Online.

Take example the various weapons that you can find in GTA Online. A lot of the weapons you will find in the game now were added through the various DLC drops. With the upcoming San Andreas Mercenaries DLC, a brand new tactical SMG will arrive as well. Here, we will go over how to get the new tactical SMG.

How To Get The New Tactical SMG In GTA Online

Update - It's launch day, and the new Tactical SMG can be purchased at the GTA Online Gun Van Inventory this week.

[Original Story Follows] - As we get more information about San Andreas Mercenaries DLC, we learn more and more about what the next DLC will bring. One piece of information that Rockstar let us know is that there will be a new tactical SMG coming to GTA Online. We even got to see the new SMG in action in the latest trailer drop for the DLC.

At the time of this writing, we do not know the exact conditions needed to get the new SMG. In previous weapon drops, the WM 29 Pistol was unlocked through a random Weazel Plaza event that you can encounter. Similarly, when the new Railgun was released, it came later as drip feed content tied into the new GTA Online Gun Van. More than likely, the new tactical SMG will be tied to a story mission for the San Andreas Mercenaries DLC.

When Can I Get The New Tacitcal SMG In GTA Online?

If the trailer is any indication, you should be able to get the new tactical SMG on June 13th. We say that because Rockstar has specifically mentioned the new SMG in their blog post and their pictures, and it is in the new video as well. This means that the new tactical SMG is likely coming very soon as part of the story content.

But Rockstar has surprised us in the past. For the Los Santos Drug Wars, there was a lot of drip feed content that was released periodically after the DLC launched. The WM 29 Pistol and Rail Gun were both released later than the original release date of the Los Santos Drug Wars DLC. It is possible that the new tactical SMG could come at a later date, but given it's prominance, we suspect it will be ready at launch.
