Ghostwire: Tokyo will be officially released in just a few days, 25th March to be exact, but the deluxe edition allows players to access the title three days prior to launch.
The game features protagonist Akito who will be the main character controlled by the player. A mystery will need to be uncovered as to why the city has been overtaken by a supernatural element, removing humans from the streets.
Akito will face numerous opponents throughout the dark, miserable environment of Tokyo. Akito will fight using his bow, as well as his Ethereal Weaving magic skill to uncover the answers to the mystery.
Is Ghostwire: Tokyo a PlayStation exclusive?
Ghostwire: Tokyo will be available on both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms at first release, cementing that it is indeed a PlayStation exclusive (for consoles). There is obviously time for later releases on alternative platforms, but at the moment, it does not appear that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming to Xbox.
Though it is worth noting that the game’s publisher is Bethesda, an entity owned by none other than Microsoft. With this in mind, a future Xbox release for the game is certainly something to keep tabs on.
Ghostwire: Tokyo background
First announced during the E3 showcase of Bethesda in 2019, developers Tango Gameworks spearheaded the creation of the Ghostwire: Tokyo. Of course, Tango Gameworks is also the mind behind games such as Evil Within in 2014, and its sequel, Evil Within 2 in 2017.

A brief description for the upcoming release was provided by Bethesda and reads:
“Tokyo is overrun by deadly supernatural forces, perpetrated by a dangerous occultist, causing Tokyo’s population to vanish in an instant. Ally with a powerful spectral entity on their quest for vengeance and master a powerful arsenal of abilities to unravel the dark truth behind the disappearance as you face the unknown in Ghostwire: Tokyo.”
The visuals of the upcoming title look to be stunning, and on PC and PS5 platforms they should truly bring the title to life. Wander through the rain-slicked streets of Tokyo as you complete the storyline and enjoy additional side-content.
Iconic landmarks like Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower will be recognizable to many players as they fight enemies of all sorts and look to save the city with Akito.
Three days until the launch of #GhostwireTokyo.
