Chapter 2 Season 6 of Fortnite has seen loads of exclusive content. We’ve already seen multiple crossover promotions and events, and now it seems we’re set for yet another big one.
Fortnite leaks suggest that Epic Games could be heading for a collaboration with the NBA, and soon. We’ve seen multiple soccer crossover events, most recently a Neymar Jr. promotion, so this NBA event certainly seems feasible.
Fortnite x NBA Team Battles event info
As we’ve seen in previous promotions and updates, Epic Games has no problem crossing over with athletes. A recent event brought soccer players to the Fortnite island as part of the Neymar Jr. skin release.

Players needed to find Soccer player NPC’s and interact with them to complete challenges. The NBA Team Battles event could end up operating in a similar fashion.
According to popular Fortnite leaker, Shook, the NBA Team Battles event will start on 12th, May 2021, at 8 am. There will be a timed competition with V-Buck rewards, similar to most Fortnite promotions.
The rewards will likely be calculated based on eliminations and the amount of time spent in the game (placing). Rewards should be gifted out as follows:
- 1st Place: 500 V-Bucks + NBA Championship Back Bling
- 2nd Place: 300 V-Bucks
- 3rd Place: 100 V-Bucks
Don’t worry if you’re not a competitive tournament player, there will still be opportunities to get your hands on exclusive NBA loot. The Championship Back Bling and other NBA skins and items will likely be dropped into the Fortnite shop for a multi-day period, available for purchase.
