When does Fortnite Chapter 3 start? Release date, Battle Pass and weapon mods

With Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5, entitled Zero Point, raging on, there's a good chance we will see the next chapter release after the end-of-season event. We've got you covered with a Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 release date, as well as the possible content and Battle Pass you can expect to see.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 release date

Before we get to the expected release date, it is important to note Epic Games has not confirmed Fortnite will tick over to Chapter 3 after the end of Chapter 2 Season 5. 

However, some believe Chapter 3 might release soon. For example, Fortnite streamer and YouTuber SypherPK believes we could see Chapter 3 release next, instead of Chapter 2 Season 7.

If Chapter 2 ends with Season 5, the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 release date should be between 16th and 18th March 2021. 

This information comes thanks to the Zero Point Battle Pass countdown timer. However, with a new Chapter, the end-of-season event might be longer than usual.

With the current Battle Pass ending on 15th March 2021, the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 release date should definitely be in the same week.

Fortnite Chapter 3 content: Possible weapon mods

With the release of a new Fortnite Chapter, we can expect massive changes to the map, as well as a tonne of new content and features for players to enjoy.

While Epic Games has, of course, not released any information about Fortnite Chapter 3 content, there's a chance we might get a Weapon Mods feature.

This possible upcoming feature was first found back on 27th December 2020 in the game's files with the string "Weapon Mod Slots". 

In January 2021, even more leaks about the weapon mods feature appeared. Fortnite dataminer, HYPEX, in collaboration with FunGameLeaks, shared more details on Fortnite weapon mods.

According to the leaks, weapon mods in Fortnite are planned as items. This means players will be able to add or drop mods at any time.

Not all mods will work with all weapons, as they will have specific mods. Lastly, weapons could have multiple mod slots.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 should be massive, which means it could very well be the perfect time for a feature such as weapon mods.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass

The price for the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass will be 950 V-Bucks. It will also be available as part of the Fortnite Crew subscription service.

The current price for the smallest V-Bucks bundle (1,000 V-Bucks) will set you back 7.99 USD. As always, there should be a 25 Tier Battle Pass bundle which will cost you 2,800 V-Bucks, if Epic Games continues with the same pricing model.

There's no indication what content will be in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass just yet but you can expect 100 Tiers of content to grind through.
