As players enjoy everything Season 7 has to offer within Fortnite’s Chapter 2, they have had the chance to learn more about the sudden alien invasion that kicked off the new season, while also getting new challenges to complete around the island.
With the time passing by and the season entering its fourth week, lots of changes have been featured in the map with the addition of alien parasites and the Cosmic Summer quests, with some players beginning to think what will happen on Season 8 already.
It can be a bit early to make some speculations or something, but let’s talk about when the next season will be launched and what we could wait to see in it at first.
When will Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 8 begin?
Very recently, the common period of time of Fortnite’s seasons has proved to be around the 12 and 15 weeks, with some rare cases going up to 18 weeks.
However, thanks to the date revealed on the current Battle Pass, we can confirm for sure the current season will end on 12th September 2021, with Season 8 arriving into the game in the early hours of 13th September.
What will be in Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 8?
As the seasons continue to be released in Chapter 2, Fortnite’s island has evolved in many different ways in each of them. The main plot of the Chapter has been all around Zero Point, a mysterious entity charged with enough power to change reality and even affect others close to it, bringing characters from other worlds into Fortnite.
The Zero Point has passed through many transformations in the last year, with it being visible in the sky during Season 5 around a pink sandplain, becoming the centre of the Spire during Season 6, and then being ultimately taken over by the alien mothership in Season 7.
So, for Season 8 is more than awaited we will get some more details about the fate of the Zero Point, as one important character around its plot made a cameo during the start of Season 7, being no other than the Foundation, the leader of the Seven who saved the island by maintaining the Zero Point stable inside the top of the Spire.
As the aliens took over the Zero Point, the Foundation was unexpectedly sent into the ocean, appearing through one of the rifts we have seen in the past. How it got here and which will be its next move will be a secret, for now.
Gameplay-wise, the re-introduction of the Battle Stars reward system for the Battle Pass, is something that will be around at least for the time being of Chapter 2.
The use of this selective system instead of the old levelling ladder has proven to be a nice change for the game’s community, as it brought a fresh experience for tryhard players and for those who want to collect all rewards without feeling the pressure of losing the chance to get their favourites.
As for inside the game, it’s pretty unsure if the alien weapons and artifacts will remain around in the next season, as the Primal content disappeared as soon as Season 7 started, so maybe we will have to deal with a period of adaptation with new content coming along the way in the Season 8.
As of now, it will remain a mystery, but in the meantime, we can't miss the chance to find every secret we can from the Epic and Legendary quests of each week, and even with the little bits, we learn from in-game events.
