One of the largest misconceptions in Far Cry 6 thus far has been around third-person gameplay. In the trailers leading up to the game, it seemed like Ubisoft was finally going to deliver a fully-fledged third-person mode for players who wanted a less immersive point of view.
However, a week into the game, and players can’t figure out if there is such a mode and how to toggle it if there is one. While some elements of Far Cry 6 do have third-person elements, that isn’t enough for some players who don’t want to see their fists or gun while running across Yara.
Below, we’ll explain everything surrounding the third-person gameplay in Far Cry 6 and if you can actually toggle it.
Is there a third-person mode in Far Cry 6?
As of right now, players can’t actually control when they toggle in and out of third-person in Far Cry 6. While the game does feature many third-person elements, Ubisoft has not yet granted players a way to fully access it throughout their journey.
However, there is more third-person gameplay in Far Cry 6 than there ever has been before. Below, you can see all of the times you can enter third-person mode in Far Cry 6:
-
During any cutscene with Dani
-
When activating Supremo
-
Traversing near larger Guerrilla bases
For players hoping for a third-person toggle when riding a horse, driving a vehicle or operating the parachute/wingsuit, there’s no such thing as of yet. You’ll have to deal with staring at the back of a horse’s head for now and maybe forever, as Ubisoft doesn’t often add these kinds of things into Far Cry 6 after launch.
