Far Cry 6 hides numerous special weapons across the island of Yara, carefully placed in special "crocodile" chests scattered around the map.
These unique signature weapons are some of the most powerful in the game, they all come with unique designs, special abilities, and pre-equipped mods and attachments. You will definitely want to find them all, and not just for the purpose of collecting, as they will be of tremendous help in your rebellion against "El Presidente".
One of the very first such weapons you will be able to obtain in Fort Quito on Isla Santuario, but at first glance, it might look tricky to get it and some players might be confused about how to get to the weapon chest in the basement of Fort Quito in Far Cry 6.
How to get Fort Quito contraband chest in Far Cry 6
If you are here, you probably already know where the chest is, but if not, you can find it deep inside Fort Quito's basement.
When you get uranium in the Du or Die mission, instead of immediately going back to Clara's Camp, you should first enter a wooden door between cages in Fort Quito's yard.
From there, descend down via ladders and stairs until you can not go down anymore, upon which you will find yourself in a room with a cage full of crates, one of them being the weapon chest.
The cage has a door, but it doesn't seem as it could be opened. At this point, you probably think that you need to find a key somewhere in order to open the cage and get access to the chest, but that's not actually the case.
The solution is rather simple, you don't need to enter the cage through the door. Instead, walk around the cage, and on the right side of it, you will find some plywood laid on the fence.
Just break the sheets with your melee weapon and an opening will appear. Get through the crack and now you're inside the cage! Go to the weapon chest (the one with a crocodile carving on it), and open it for your reward!
Inside you will find the Autocrat pistol, one of the very first unique weapons you will get in Far Cry 6, which is an excellent option for the early game!
And there you have it, a guide on how to open the Fort Quito weapon chest in Far Cry 6. Oftentimes, all you need to do is to look around and a solution will be right there.
