Fallout 76 has a lot of content added to the game and even more is coming out in the near future. In the past, one of the main complaints players had when the game was initially released was that Appalachia felt completely empty. That is because Vault 76 was supposed to be the first Vault to open after the nukes dropped.
But now the game is filled with content and more is coming. The next major update for Fallout 76 will be the Mutation Invasion. Players will have to get their weapons ready for the horde of mutated enemies that are coming to Fallout 76. Here, we are going to go over what exactly the Mutation Invasion is for Fallout 76 and what players can expect.
24 February UPDATE - We've checked for the latest news and leaks on 'Fallout 76 Mutation Invasion' and updated the page with any changes.
What Is The Fallout 76 Mutation Invasion Update?
The last major update for Fallout 76 was the Nuka-Cola on Tour. This added a new area in the map of Fallout 76, new missions, and new weapons for players to discover. The Mutation Invasion is the next big update for Fallout 76, but it will be a little different compared to the Nuka-Cola event.
In Fallout 76, Daily Ops gives players a high chance of encountering mutated enemies. These mutated enemies have special effects that have afflicted them that players need to watch out for. The Mutation Invasion will bring mutated events to Public Events in Fallout 76. Here are the mutations that players should look out for.
-
Volatile: Enemies explode upon death.
-
Active Camouflage: Enemies are cloaked when not attacking.
-
Resilient: Enemies can only be slain with a melee attack.
-
Freezing Touch: Slow targets down upon attack.
-

-
Group regeneration: Enemies heal each other when within their radius.
-
Swift Footed: Increased movement speed.
When Will The Mutation Invasion Update Release In Fallout 76?
The Mutation Invasion will begin right at the end of Season 11 of the game. For an exact date, the Mutation Invaion will come to Fallout 76 on February 28th. That means players will have to plan ahead for future Public Events. These mutated enemies should make Public Events a lot harder for players.
A lot of the time, a long-range gun will take care of the mutated enemies with no problem. After all, most of the mutations will affect those who are close to the enemy. Melee-focused players should be careful when taking on Public Events because they will be the most affected by the Mutation Invasion. These mutated events will last until March 21st.
