Fallout 76 is constantly getting updated but sometimes, there are bigger updates that are introduced in the game. The bigger updates usually come hand-in-hand with major content drops. These content drops happen at the end of a season and a lot of things change for players in Fallout 76.
Most recently, players got a major content drop in the form of Update 44 for Fallout 76. Update 44 is the start of Season 13 and there is a lot of new content available in the game as off the update which dropped earlier today. But on top of that, there are various fixes to the systems that help make the game, most of which are noted in the patch notes.
However, it seems as though Bethesda snuck something else into the update, with numerous PlayStation players now reporting that the game's latest update is now letting the PS5 version run at 60 fps.
In a recent Reddit post, u/BOSS_ZOMBIE made a post that said that Fallout 76 is now running at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5. Previously, Fallout 76 was capped out at 30 FPS for console players but that seems to have changed. As he made the post, many commented that they noticed the difference on their PlayStation 5 as well.
Fallout 76 also runs at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X but this has been available for some time with the use of FPS boost. However, it appears as though today's update has managed to fix some of the issues fans noticed with FPS Boost on Xbox absolutely killing the resolution.
This is a major upgrade for those who are playing Fallout 76 on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. There is still no confirmation if Fallout 76 runs at 60 FPS for both the PS4 or Xbox One, but at the very least there is an upgrade for current-gen consoles.
Now, if we could just get a next-gen update for Fallout 4, that would be perfect.
