Gamescom 2021, the biggest European gaming convention and one of the biggest gaming events in the world, kicks off 24th August with the Opening Night Live stream.
After the show's premiere in 2019, Geoff Keighley is back this year with another Opening Night Live event to kick of Gamescom 2021.
While this was confirmed back in March, now we have more details about the event, including the date and time.
The two-hour showcase will offer "a new look at this holiday's biggest upcoming video games and what lies beyond," which sounds quite intriguing, and if you are as excited as we are, here's everything you need to know about the show.
When is Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live - date and time
The show's presenter, Geoff Keighley, has officially revealed the schedule for this year's Opening Night Live.
Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live is set to occur on Wednesday, 25th August, starting at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 8 pm CET.
The showcase will last approximately 2 hours.
How to watch Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live
The main Opening Night Live stream will be on The Game Awards Twitch and YouTube channels, but everyone will be free to co-stream the event, and you will be able to watch it almost anywhere across YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms.
Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live - what to expect?
Keighley teased us with a vague "a new look at this holiday's biggest upcoming video games and what lies beyond" announcement, so we don't really have any clear idea what can we expect to see during the event.
During the 2020 Opening Night Live stream, we saw teasers, gameplay, and trailers about several AAA games, including Star Wars: Squadrons, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Dragon Age 4, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, so without a doubt, there will be some important titles shown during 2021 Opening Night Live.
We might not see new announcements of big games, but maybe exclusive gameplay reveal from the rumoured COD: Vanguard, more gameplay from Battlefield 2042, several big indie game announcements, and more.
2K Games might use this opportunity to reveal their rumoured Marvel x XCOM game, and Sony could show more details about God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.
We might find out more about Metroid Dread, which has been revealed this summer, and maybe even more about Elden Ring.
Keep in mind that these are all just our predictions and speculation, as we don't really know what Geoff has in store for us, but with the event being 2-hours long, we have really high expectations, and we definitely think that you should not miss Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live.
