When you're first exploring Enshrouded and start to notice early crafting options, the glider is a particularly enticing possibility. In Enshrouded, jumping from somewhere high up in the air with a glider equipped allows you to travel longer distances quickly and prevent fall damage.
Unfortunately, it's not something you'll be able to get right away. You need to do some exploring, as there are several key materials required to craft the glider in Enshrouded that will require you venturing into dangerous areas.
How to Craft and Use a Glider in Enshrouded
You're going to need to gather four different items to craft the glider in Enshrouded. The first, and easiest to gather, will be String. String is crafted with plant fiber, and you can get that by interacting with bushes all around the earliest area near Longkeep.
You also need animal fur, and the best way to get that is by killing goats or wolves. The latter are more dangerous, but even with just a hatchet you should be able to kill a few if you're quick with each strike.
Finally, your last two items will take a bit more work as you have to venture into the shroud. You can get Shroud Spores by defeating enemies in the shroud, and that includes the small shrouded areas within the Longkeep ruins and due east of them.
For Shroud Wood, you'll have to venture a bit further and go to the larger shrouded area near Braelyn Bridge. That's also somewhere you'll need to defeat some enemies to stay safe, and looting them will collect more Shroud Spores in the process.
Repeat gathering of each of these items until you have all the pieces together to craft a glider. Go to a workbench with the necessary items in your inventory, and once crafted you will need to equip the glider to use it.
Once equipped, simply press space while falling to deploy the glider. This earliest version won't maintain altitude very long, but it will allow you to cross a decent distance and crucially prevents any fall damage. Crafting the glider should be one of your first goals, and it'll serve you well as you continue to explore Enshrouded.
