Dead by Daylight's infamous Twins are finally getting reworked, according to a response from DBD's team in a Reddit AMA. Like The Skull Merchant's rework coming soon, it seems like the upcoming Twins "rework" will be more like just a significant tweak, keeping the killers' ability the same while switching up values and altering the way the killer plays.
The rework comes after many fans have long pointed out that these killers are too powerful after hooking survivors. Twins players can swap between Charlotte and Victor, with Victor being able to injure and incapacitate survivors while Charlotte waits nearby. Their innate ability to face-camp effectively using Victor allows them to end trials nearly immediately by camping hooks survivors can't find a way to counter them.
"We will be releasing a Twins update soon," said Matt S., Dead by Daylight's Design Director during a 7 September 2023 Reddit AMA. "Currently, we're aiming for more of a 'tweak' to the base kit and a couple of add-ons to alleviate some friction points, adjust the slugging meta, and stop Victor from getting stuck all over the Map."
According to this, the Twins' add-ons will be updated, with changes to their power, too.
While developers did not give a specific release date for the change, they did confirm that the update will be coming "soon" - so players could expect perhaps a late 2023 release.
"Hopefully they will be more fun to play for everyone," DBD Design Director Matt S. added.
Dead by Daylight's team is also making a number of changes to combat face camping, as they outlined in their Year 8 Roadmap. These changes will likely also impact Twins players and survivors who play against them, preventing face-camping strategies and encouraging this killer to try other ways to take down survivors.
