Dead by Daylight announced their collaboration with Supermassive Games earlier this year to create a single-player title set in the Dead by Daylight universe; though there's been little news about the upcoming title since its announcement, that changed today with a new post on Dead by Daylight's X/Twitter account. The post contained the promotional video for the upcoming single-player game, as well as an eyes emoji next to a caption simply reading "@thegameawards".
This suggests that players will get their first look at the Dead by Daylight x Supermassive Games title at The Game Awards 2023, which will take place on 7 December 2023.
In the promo video, which was first revealed when the game was announced, Supermassive Games explains their involvement in the project. "We're obviously all horror fans here at Supermassive, and massive fans of Dead by Daylight," said Supermassive Games' studio director Steve Goss. "We're thrilled to be collaborating with Behaviour on a brand new, single-player, interactive story game set in the terrifying omniverse of Dead by Daylight."
The studio promises fans that the title will combine the narrative storytelling that Supermassive is known for, with Dead by Daylight's own eerie, iconic charm. The game will be set outside the Entity's Realm, in stark contrast to the 4v1 asymmetrical title, where all in-game events, including trials, take place in the Fog. This will give fans a new way to experience Dead by Daylight, and a new look into the lore of the game.
Supermassive Games is known for popular horror titles like Until Dawn and The Quarry, so a Behaviour Interactive x Supermassive collab definitely makes sense. Fans won't have to wait much longer to see what the two studios have to offer, with 2023's Game Awards kicking off tomorrow.
