Dead by Daylight spinoff game Project T has been cancelled by Behaviour Interactive, the studio announced today. Project T was planned to be 4-v1 co-op PVE shooter set in the Dead by Daylight universe, with developers unveiling first looks at the then-upcoming title back in March.

"When we conceptualized Project T, we wanted to have players involved in it as early as possible, which led to the creation of the Insiders Program," the team explained. The Insiders Program was a program allowing hopeful players to try out Project T and provide their feedback, which developers said would shape the game.

"While a number of players expressed appreciation for what they played, unfortunately, the outcome of this deep analysis yielded unsatisfactory overall results. We want to thank you for your support throughout this journey," Behaviour wrote.

Project T, which was first announced during Dead by Daylight's 8th anniversary celebration earlier this year, would've allowed players to step into the shoes of "Trespassers" as they explore a new region of the Entity's Realm called the Backwater. Players could use trucks, talismans, weapons, and other tools to investigate the realm and battle the Thrall, allowing for a totally new experience in the established Dead by Daylight universe.

While Project T would've been the first shooter in the Dead by Daylight universe, it certainly isn't the franchise's first spinoff. Dead by Daylight released its own dating sim, Hooked on You, back in mid-2022, with Supermassive Games' new narrative-based game, The Casting of Frank Stone, hitting digital shelves earlier this year.
