Moris have been the subject of much discussion among the Dead by Daylight community recently, with quite a few proposed changes coming to the iconic mechanic. In a recent PTB, developers tested a new system that would allow for a cinematic Mori at the end of a match rather than killers being able to use Moris throughout the match. All existing Mori offerings would only grant Bloodpoints for completing that final cinematic Mori.
Dead by Daylight has responded to fan feedback by reverting these controversial changes to the Cypress Memento Mori offering in the upcoming PTB patch notes. The Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori Offerings will again allow the killer to kill any survivors who have reached the second hook state.
"We’ve received a lot of feedback about the changes made to the Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori Offerings during the PTB," Dead by Daylight Community Manager Peanits wrote in a Developer Update. "With that in mind, we have reverted the changes to the Mori Offerings."
In the update, developers cited fan concerns about losses of mid-match kills, as well as Mori photo opportunities. They also acknowledged that the Bloodpoint reward could encourage "unfun behavior."
While the Cypress Memento Mori Offering will also be retired as a result of the update, don't fret if you've already spent a wealth of Bloodpoints on them. Players will receive 1 million Bloodpoints for any unused offerings. Those Bloodpoints will need to be claimed between 8 October and 17 October 2024, though, so be sure to log in if you've got any to claim!
