Dead by Daylight leaker and news account dvveet speculated on X/Twitter that Dead by Daylight Mobile could be closing its doors soon. A myriad of signs point to the potential closure, including the deletion of several Q&A posts outlining the game's future, a lack of updates in over a month, and the current Rift being extended from 31 October all the way until 20 March. A developer Q&A session scheduled for the 19th never took place, with no word from developers.
Also according to DBD leaker dvveet, Dead by Daylight Mobile has shuttered its Content Creator program. However, some content creators have suggested in the Dead by Daylight Mobile Discord that the Content Creator isn't coming to an end, but is instead paused. As for the whole situation, the DBD Mobile team "hasn't given any answer as to what's going on," which could point to the game's updates ending soon.
However, the end of Dead by Daylight Mobile hasn't been confirmed by its developers quite yet, so fans may want to hold on to their hope.
Dead by Daylight Mobile is developed by NetEase Games, while the PC version of the game is developed by Behaviour Interactive. NetEase was criticized by some DBD fans last month after dvveet on X/Twitter pointed out that the mobile version of the game used artists' fan renders without credit. Despite the criticism, many players have praised NetEase in the past for implementing unique skins such as the Cardboard Dinosaur sets, which also included a howl emote, and the backpack cosmetic category.
This story is still developing, with no updates from Behaviour Interactive or NetEase quite yet. While many signs seem to point to the closure of Dead by Daylight Mobile, there's no official word from developers.
