The most recent Dead by Daylight chapter, Forged in Fog, introduced a new killer, The Knight, and new survivor, Vittorio Toscano. Each of these two new characters comes with three exciting new perks.
One of Vittorio Toscano's new perks, Potential Energy, has a pretty complicated description that even the horror game's veteran players might struggle to understand. In this article, we'll go over everything you need to know about the Potential Energy perk, including its description and how it works.
Potential Energy Perk Description
Potential Energy is one of Vittorio Toscano's three teachable perks. Its in-game description reads as follows:
- Your arcane abilities have adapted to The Entity's Realm after centuries of wandering, granting you unprecedented control over its many devices.
- After repairing Generators for a total of 12/10/8 uninterrupted seconds, press the Active Ability button to activate Potential Energy:
- Continuing to repair the Generator will charge Potential Energy instead of progressing the Generator.
- Converts 1.5 % of Repair progression into 1 Token, up to a maximum of 20 Tokens.
- Missing Skill Checks results in losing some Tokens.
- While Potential Energy has at least 1 Token, press the Active Ability button while repairing a Generator to instantly progress it by 1 % per Token, consuming all remaining Tokens and deactivating Potential Energy.
- Potential Energy loses all Tokens and deactivates upon losing a Health State.
How Does Potential Energy Work In Dead by Daylight?
After reading the Potential Energy perk description, you might still be a bit confused about how this perk actually functions in Dead by Daylight. Let's go into a little more detail so you can understand how to use it.
Essentially, this perk allows you to save up to a maximum of 30% Repair progress in lieu of actively repairing a generator. You can then use that on another Generator, refilling it with tons of repair progress all at once. This can be pretty useful end-game when the killer is patrolling several generators.
This perk is pretty risky, though, because if you take the time to save up a lot of tokens, that's time not being spent repairing the Generator in front of you. Plus, you lose your stacks if you lose a Health State, meaning you definitely don't want to find yourself getting injured.
That's all you need to know about how the perk Potential Energy works in Dead by Daylight, from its description to how it actually functions in the game.
