Will the Dead by Daylight x FNAF Collab Be Cosmetics Only?

Fans are debating whether Dead by Daylight x Five Nights at Freddy's will be a full chapter or a cosmetic collection.

Dead by Daylight has just announced its collab with Five Nights at Freddy's, but some are worried thatthe crossover will only include cosmetics rather than a full-on chapter with standalone characters, perks, and killer power.

The rumors started after the asymmetrical game announced the collab using a graphic depicting the two franchise's logos with an "x" between them, a style they've previously commonly used for cosmetic-only collabs.

It's true that Dead by Daylight has previously announced cosmetic-only collabs with this style of graphic, but it's also a design they've used to advertise major chapters - like Ringu and Resident Evil - long before their release.

Like those franchises, Five Nights at Freddy's was announced well before it's slated to be available - it has a summer 2025 release date, but fans learned about it in October 2024 as part of FNAF's 10th anniversary celebration

Other fans pointed out that the banners for Dead by Daylight cosmetic collections are usually identified as such, with the word "collection" appearing as part of the graphic. The Slipknot, Iron Maiden, and Attack on Titan collections all included this word in their respective announcement graphics.

Behaviour Interactive hasn't confirmed anything about the Five Nights at Freddy's content yet aside from the fact that it's coming to the game, so the details of the FNAF x DBD collab are anyone's guess. However, given the style of the game's announcement, the popularity of FNAF, and just how far out the announcement was made, it seems pretty likely that we'll indeed get a full chapter rather than just a set of cosmetics.
